EFT/Tapping

EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) or Tapping is a process that involves gentle tapping points on the face and hands to change the emotional charge or intensity of a situation, experience or memory. It follows a procedure or protocol that allows the body and brain to work together to shift emotional intensity. It can be used for many issues, from phobias, anxiety, stress, sleeplessness, pain and boosting health and well being. It is helpful as a tool to shift strong emotions from the body and is highly versatile in its application.

As with other techniques Belinda uses, EFT/Tapping does not use traditional narrative approaches of working with trauma (telling of the story) as part of the process. You do not need to talk in detail about what has happened, or have a clear memory or story/narrative around your experience. This can be common for people who have experienced trauma, as traumatic memory is laid down, (and therefore recalled) differently in the brain.

EFT/Tapping is able to be used by the client long after sessions end with Belinda. This is part of her philosophy of supporting people with techniques and modalities they can take with them and use after the time spent working together.
